RE-FITTING TUBELESS TYRES

Equipment required

Tyrepliers double-forged re-fitting tyre lever, lubricant, valve fool, new valve stem (if required), rubber mallet and ground sheet.

Procedure

It is recommended that you completely replace the valve stem if it appears damaged.

  • Lubricate the tubeless valve and insert from inside the rim.
  • Screw on the valve tool and pull the valve stem into the rim.
  • Apply lubricant around the bead. This will make it easier to refit the tyre to the rim.
  • Stand the tyre upright.
  • Place the front of the rim into the rear of the tyre.
  • Lie the rim down flat [the front of the tyre should be facing upwards].
  • Using the mallet, hammer the bead over the edge of the rim.
  • Place your foot on the tyre and push the second bead over the edge of the rim and into the well.
  • Pushing down on the tyre with your foot opposite the valve, use the refitting end of the tyre lever to work the remainder of the tyre bead over the edge of the rim.
  • Align the marks for the valve position and any wheel weights.
  • Inflate the tyre. (Refer to the rear of this booklet for correct inflation procedures).

Hint The impact with the rubber mallet should be on the tyre bead and not the tyre wall The impact should be as close as possible to the point where the bead is rolling over the edge of the rim
