Changing A Wheel

  • Pull well off to the side of the road.
  • Apply the handbrake
  • Chock the wheels - Chock two wheels other than the wheel being removed. If the wheels are correctly chocked the vehicle should not move.

Equipment Required:

Wheel brace, Jack and two wheel chocks

Removing the wheel:

  • Loosen wheel nuts with the wheel brace (do not remove nuts)
  • Place the jack in a safe position under the vehicle.
  • Make sure the jack is on hard ground. If the ground is soft place the jack on a large base plate to prevent it sinking into the ground.
  • Jack the Vehicle until the wheel clears the ground.
  • Once the weight is off the wheel continue to loosen and remove the wheel nuts.
  • Remove the wheel taking care not to damage the threads.
  • Replace with the spare wheel.
